      About the job

      Join Sanofi as Global Procurement Head of CapEx Maintenance Energy & Waste. In this role you will be responsible for defining the global procurement strategies for Capital Equipment projects (engineering, industrial equipment, and construction services), for Maintenance (spare parts and maintenance services), for Energy (commodity and sustainability projects) and for Waste management for all Business Units including Manufacturing & Supply.

      You will ensure deployment of these strategy across the company including corporate functions, business units and regions, as well as driving critical savings, procurement development and improvement projects.

      Our team

      The Global Manufacturing & Supply Procurement team is led by Global Head of Procurement Manufacturing & Supply who reports to the CPO and dotted to the EVP Global Manufacturing & Supply. The Global Head of CapEx Maintenance Energy and Waste reports directly to the Global Head of Procurement Manufacturing & Supply. The Procurement M&S team supporting consists of 10 peers on the Leadership Team and a total team of 162 employees:

      Scope

      With a spend scope of 2,1B€ across all GBUs (GenMed, Specialty Care, CHC, Vaccines, R&D and Support functions) and > 6000 suppliers, the Global Procurement Head of CapEx Maintenance Energy & Waste will be a key contributor to co-create and drive the overall CapEx Maintenance Energy and Waste strategies globally across all of Sanofi.

      Main responsibilities

      • Develop, evolve, and deploy the overall strategy on CapEx projects, Maintenance, Energy and Waste categories maximizing value for Manufacturing & Supply Procurement Directs and GBUs
      • Ensure that an appropriate supplier strategy is identified for each category to sustain the projected long-term CapEx, Maintenance, Energy and Waste management needs, with an objective of simplification and standardization, where possible
      • Ensure alignment at strategic level between Sanofi CapEx Maintenance Energy & Waste categories objectives and key strategic suppliers to maximize leverage across GBU
      • Represent Direct Procurement function in appropriate Manufacturing & Supply Leadership committees, where CapEx Maintenance Energy & Waste sourcing is a key strategic impact
      • Connect Engineering, R&D, Site management, Finance and Manufacturing to ensure that there is established governance at key decision points to ensure that are making sound commercial decisions that consider end-to-end impact, ROI, NPV, etc. to drive margin creation and ensure we develop and commercial medicines that are accessible to patients
      • Define and establish standard processes, policies, and templates by which Direct Procurement will execute the strategy and measure performance and compliance against predefined financial and operational metrics
      • Support M&A carve in / out activities and participate in critical business and growth initiatives as needed
      • Develop and disseminate communication materials to ensure key business stakeholders understand the Procurement strategy and how it impacts their function / business
      • Ensure the appropriate mix of talented, trained resources to execute the strategy and support the management of global, business unit and regional organizational structures and transformation plans
      • Support the global procurement training curriculum around strategic sourcing and strategy development and support the delivery of training on processes and policies
      • Execute projects related to reporting, analytics, spend system implementation, compliance, quality, knowledge management etc. aligned to the overall strategic plan
      • Run and manage global procurement events like procurement strategy definition and decision meetings, support CPO staff calls, Global Town Halls and other leadership meetings
      • Support Procurement excellence team toward procurement digital roadmap
      • Support capability building and reinforce procurement interaction with IA Key Supplier Operations lead
      • Contribute actively to Budget and Long-Range-Plan cycles providing the strategic alignment and link to operational projects and targets
      • Simplify and standardize CapEx Maintenance Energy & Waste by revisiting governance and current operational models

      Key Accountabilities & KPIs

      • Develop and co-create sourcing and purchasing strategies across Manufacturing & Supply and turn the potential savings into reality to deliver against the cost savings, sustainability, and continuous improvement agenda.
      • Build organizational capability through skill development, coaching and training
      • Drive individual accountability of performance deliverables and savings
      • Build relationships within the organization to efficiently drive changes within the Sanofi business
      • Build relationships with key strategic suppliers to align it with Sanofi business objectives.
      • Anticipate market trends and apply them to sourcing strategies
      • Anticipate business and technology trends and apply them to sourcing strategies
      • Lead process & project workshops across Manufacturing & Supply
      • Responsible for meeting overall cost savings and performance targets
      • Integrate Procurement digital tools in procurement strategy
      • Measure and lead cash flow improvement actions through inventory management (VMI, control delegation) and payment terms optimization

      About you

      • Strong knowledge and experience in procurement with a focus on CapEx MRO Energy and waste ideally in pharma with a solid understanding of both Procurement and Operations; a combination of functional experiences in both Manufacturing and SCM as well as Procurement would be ideal
      • Solid track record of achievements inclusive of some people management experience
      • Robust business acumen and strong interpersonal, influencing and relationship building skills
      • Combine functional depth with dynamic, cross-functional interaction and highly effective communication skills
      • Capable and willingness to navigate in global and complex matrix environments; strong ability to morph and cater his/her style and approach depending on the function or BU he/she is partnering with
      • Proven multi-year track-record of managing and delivering against complex cross-functional programs.
      • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of category management/strategic sourcing processes, tools and techniques. Which ideally includes experience in defining and implementing strategic sourcing and procurement best-practices (processes, policies, systems, tools etc.)
      • Experience in implementing Procurement systems (SAP, Ariba, etc.) including design & deployment is a benefit
      • Leadership, communication, results driven, resiliency, diversity, pragmatic and entrepreneurial skills
      • Education in Sciences, Engineering or Business or another relevant field
