- Working with trading to help properly value mergers spreads and risk trading
- Working with trading to help monetize research calls
- Working closely with research to commercialize research calls
- Preparing daily market commentary on key news flow
- Client calls and meetings on the sector
- Working with banking on capital raises and secondary market blocks within the sector coverage
- 7-10 years of dedicated experience in portfolio management, equity research, sector trading, investment banking or similar training
- Organization, attention to detail and the ability to process large amounts of data and information quickly
- Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements for mergers and acquisitions globally
- Excellent understanding of equity market valuations
- Good working knowledge of derivatives
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability write well and be highly articulate
- Ability to react quickly and calmly to events are key
- Existing relationships with the dedicated risk arbitrage investor community
As a North American Event Driven Specialist, you will work with Equities sales and trading professionals responsible for providing content and execution services to institutional clients globally. You will work closely with our team of individual sector specialists who are client facing and an integral part of the trading floor. You will be a central point of contact on event driven and merger arbitrage situations, spin-offs, split-offs and tenders across research, generalist sales, sales traders, trading, derivatives and banking. Clients in this space are some of the largest asset managers and hedge funds globally. Your aim is to be an expert in our stocks - but to also provide a shorter term, more commercial view on how they will trade. You will be a close partner with banking on capital raises and secondary market block sales-providing market feedback and color on valuations.
