Establishes the external Talent sourcing strategy with a medium to long term view
Establishes rich external talent pipelines, directly linked to key roles/critical skills in BBU and OBU, ensuring a successful conversion of talent pipeline candidates into hires.
Lead and run live search for senior hiring that supports pipeline activity (typically Senior Director upwards)
Accountable for building strong external Senior Executive Team (SET) succession pipelines, validated with SET members
Build a validated active pipeline of external candidates and actively promotes and shares with the talent acquisition teams to reduce costs and time to hire.
Works closely with key partners i.e. Global Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HR Business Partners, T&D Directors, Executive reward to understand the key roles, critical skills and the current population in order to assess risk areas where the talent pipeline would need expanding if no ready now internal successor
Provides solutions to benchmark internal talent where needed (with external mapping/insights)
Can drive successful ways of working and positive relationships across Talent Acquisition / HR
Works with the business to establish future global (1-3 year horizon) talent requirements, in [business critical areas]
Builds knowledge of talent presence (i.e talent insights) to determine the best approach to engage talent.
Can present insights and talent sourcing strategies at senior level to persuade/influence
Attends relevant global external meetings/conferences to assess talent and build networks
At a high level, (aligned with the global talent acquisition leads) facilitates cross-SET external talent conversations.
Strong coach and people developer as well as inspiring and leading teams to deliver against their goals
Strong resource planning to ensure their team is resourced appropriately to meet the business needs
Bachelor's degree and eight plus years relevant experience is required.
Previous experience of working as an internal Talent Scout or as a Head-Hunter/Senior Researcher/Executive Consultant
Proven T experience or equivalent, gained in an equivalent Pharma/Biotech business or extensive supplier side pharma/biotech work
Excellent business & commercial competence
Strong people management and leadership experience
Coach, developer of people and resource planning in teams
Outstanding communication and influencing skills
Confirmed ability to work in a fast paced changing environment
Data & Analytics skills with the ability to lead change & business improvement
Experience of using a CRM
Good understanding of scientific concepts/drug discovery and development process (Across Commercial & R&D)
Excellent project and change management skills

The Global Talent Scout & Capability Lead (Commercial) is an established Manager and Leader in the Talent Scouts function. They are seasoned Head-hunters with a proven track record in delivering executive search projects as well as pipelining against some of our businesses most critical skills.
They are responsible for creating business critical, senior level and Therapy Area-aligned external talent pools, based on business need and linked to overall business and people strategies. The Scout works hand in hand with T&D and HR to ensure full alignment of external scout work with internal succession.
In this role you will manage a team of Talent Scouts (covering the commercial functions Globally – Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit (BBU) and Oncology Business Unit (OBU), leading/inspiring the team as well as embedding operational excellence and standards within the delivery of the Scout function.
They partner with business leaders, HRVP’s/BP’s, Talent Acquisition teams and engage at the most senior levels/business executives in the organisation by engaging, inspiring, persuading, influencing and bringing external talent insights to the discussion.
The Global Talent Scout and Capability Lead (Commercial) will also be lead on one or more global projects / SME topics across the function e.g. Scout Academy, Beamery, Pulse etc.
