      In this role, you will work directly with internal Legal, Logistics, Supply Chain, Tax, Transfer Pricing, Finance and Procurement teams, and a variety of external Company partners. You will also work closely with all of Amazon’s global trade teams.

      Key job responsibilities
      • Provide subject matter expertise on end-to-end import and export requirements from proof of concept through prototype development, CM set-up, beta testing, mass production, and post-import audit for new technologies
      • Perform import and export product classification, export licensing and audit import and export transactions
      • Perform research on trade risks and opportunities, and summarize findings and recommendations in analyses for global stakeholders
      • Collaborate with Amazon’s regional trade teams to execute new product and country expansions
      • Effectively lead cross-functional projects, with a focus on efficiency and scalability
      • Define and report on key performance and trade compliance metrics
      • Provide effective trade compliance training and public policy updates to stakeholders

      Export Control Requirement
      Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


      A day in the life
      The Kuiper Global Trade is responsible for international trade strategy and operations including imports and exports for supply chain, manufacturing and sales. The group is part of Kuiper Production Operations.

      You will provide the business with critical SME knowledge and analyses on many topics, including import/export classification, valuation, licensing requirements, partner government agency (PGA) implications, cost-savings initiatives, etc., on a global scale. You will provide training, and create and implement scalable processes with business stakeholders.

      We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

      Redmond, WA, USA• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
      • 2+ years of trade compliance experience
      • 2+ years of knowledge of import and export compliance requirements • Aerospace or technology manufacturing industry experience.
      • Experience working in a logistics and global trade compliance environment with multinational corporations.
      • Advanced compliance training, Masters or Law degree is a plus, but is not required
      • Prior trade experience with electronics products manufacturing or in a related industry
      • Experience identifying, creating and driving strategic trade initiatives
      • ERP global trade experience

      Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
