      Transfer Pricing Senior Tax Manager (Scope to progress to TP Director)

      Amex GBT (“GBT”) Group Tax comprises a team of c.12 tax professionals, currently located in the UK and North America, whose responsibility is to manage GBT’s global tax affairs, comprising tax compliance, planning and advice to the business.

      A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Transfer Pricing Tax Manager, based in the UK, (Hybrid or Remote) to join Group Tax, offering the successful candidate the chance to be part of and contribute to an ambitious, dynamic and influential corporate function.

      This is an important role within Group Tax. Transfer pricing sits at the heart of GBT’s tax affairs, particularly given GBT’s acquisitive nature, and the successful individual will be expected to lead on transfer pricing, to make it work for the business as GBT grows both organically and through acquisition and to align transfer pricing with GBT’s global tax strategy.

      Group Tax currently operates a relatively flat reporting structure, thus promoting a strong team ethic. The position will work alongside the VP and Tax Directors and other members of Group Tax, as well as interacting with GBT colleagues at all levels across the organization and external advisers.

      In addition to supporting and feeding into strategy, planning and policy, this role is responsible for making sure that Amex GBT complies with its obligations on transfer pricing, in conjunction with external advisers and internal colleagues, and will lead on the transfer pricing aspect of tax audits, either personally or with the assistance of external tax advisers

      Although this is a Subject Matter Expert role, you will be expected to show strong and pragmatic commercial awareness, and a willingness to learn how the impact of transfer pricing on GBT’s general financial and international tax profile.

      To succeed at this role, you will need to have:

      • Extensive experience in relevant transfer pricing, having either worked in practice and/or in-house.
      • Experience of setting and implementing transfer pricing policies for groups, having worked on outbound projects.
      • The ability to assess and prioritize transfer pricing risk.
