Purpose of Role

Global Security is looking for a summer intern to support and assist with research and analysis across our various projects and day-to-day monitoring.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with daily monitoring of global security events/incidents, which could affect Kinross

• Undertake a global security project which adds value to the department (will be discussed upon starting)

• Provide support to the global security projects where needed

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

• Enrolled in a university degree (Politics, International Relations, Security, Criminology, or related degree)

• Master’s students preferred, 3rd or 4th year is also acceptable

Skills

• Must have lodging in Toronto

• Ability to synthesize complex information quickly

• Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated

• Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail

• Strong research and writing skills

• Flexibility to undertake various tasks

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently

• Ability to learn quickly and to work well in a team environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint

• Advanced knowledge of Excel or other data analysis tools an advantage

• Arabic, Spanish, Russian, French, or Portuguese language abilities would also be an asset
