      Job summary

      We are seeking to recruit a number of Medical Receptionists to join our successful Patient Care Advisory Team. We offer flexible working hours, full-time or part-time. Staff are expected to work across all four AMP Group sites, where possible. Immediate starts are available. Previous Reception experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

      The ideal candidate would be a proactive individual who can use their initiative. They will possess excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with patients. We need a team player and someone who can be flexible in times of sickness and holidays.

      The successful applicant must be IT literate and be willing to undertake relevant training in order to improve their skills.

      Duties will include meeting/greeting patients, receiving telephone calls, maintaining and updating confidential records via computerised systems and general administrative work associated with General Practice.

      Salary: dependent on experience.

      Main duties of the job

      • Running an effective and efficient reception service

      • Dealing with all general enquiries

      • Receive and make telephone calls as required and take messages

      • Action repeat prescription requests promptly

      • Registering patients on the on-line system

      • Dealing with the day to day running of the computer system and entering patient information on to the computer

      • Opening mail and ensuring that all correspondence is scanned and attached to patients computer records

      • Making sure the reception area is left tidy

      • Registering new patients promptly and accurately

      About us

      The organisation is run by a board including the Medical Director and a Senior Leadership Team. The Receptionist role is to work within a team carrying out administrative functions and working in the telephone hub.

      We believe in general practice and not general practitioner and without a good strong team we could not operate and meet our targets and deadlines.
