- Under the direction of the Hui 'Aiina Pilipili coordinator, in collaboration with faculty and staff, support programs such as Na Ko'oko'o: Hawaiian Leadership Program, Pili i Ke Kanaka: Indigenous Social Sciences Speaker Series; faculty development such as Hulihia: Decolonizing and Indigenizing Social Sciences, and other special programs and events.
- Assist with Hawaiian curricular initiatives (e.g. double majors, Bachelors and Masters) and non-credit Hawaiian educational programs in community and profession.
- Support Native Hawaiian student recruitment and community outreach.
- Support and assist in the development and implementation of research, evaluation and assessment; and contribute to on-going project planning, brainstorming, strategic planning.
- Must be available summer, evenings and weekend, when necessary.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Enrolled full-time at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, in a graduate degree program at the time of hire and throughout the appointment period, be in good academic standing and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 or above;
- Experience with project management and/or event planning;
- Strong organizational, writing and communication skills;
- Keen attention to detail and ability to synthesize information;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community;
- Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) Hawaiian history, communities, values, language and culture;
- Demonstrated ability to connect people with resources;
- Able to work both independently and reliably within a team;
- Demonstrated experience providing outreach to Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander and other underrepresented students, organizations and communities.
- Prior experience on a University of Hawai'i campus or with Native Hawaiian support programs.
- Demonstrated experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages (or comparable) software.
- Demonstrated experience in designing student-focused outreach materials such as flyers, pamphlets, brochures, infographics, videos, etc.
- Ability to read and write in the Hawaiian language.
- Familiarity with Native Hawaiian Initiatives and programs.
- Knowledge of University of Hawai'i System including its academic policies.
- Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner. This requirement may be fulfilled by possession of a valid State of Hawai?i Driver’s License (Class 3), valid comparable driver’s license, or use of other means of transportation, which meets position’s needs.

Other Conditions: To begin approximately Fall 2024, not-to-exceed June 30, 2025, subject to position clearance and availability of funds. Temporary, half-time (50%) position. Renewable, subject to satisfactory work performance, academic progress and availability of funds.
