- Assists and supports the coordination of project performance with all sub-recipients to ensure timely spending of funds and the preparation of reports and information required by the City.
- Facilitates and assists in the administration of the grant and its funds; participates in a team responsible for determining how federal monies will be invested into the community.
- Engages, coordinates, and collaborates with non-profit organizations and City departments to facilitate state, federal, and local grant funded programs.
- Processes invoices, assists in program monitoring, and complies with general reporting requirements.
- Prepares, drafts, and submits annual reports and financial documents; attends and participates in staff meetings and responds to the general public.
- Assists and provides clerical work for all tasks associate with the CDBG Home Investment Partnership Programs, Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) and financial tools; handles the Integrated Disbursement and Information Systems (IDIS) when assigned to the CDBG program and other reporting platforms related to grant funded programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Retirement – Participation in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). Classic members with less than 6 months separation: CalPERS 2% at 55, single highest year plan. New members, CalPERS 2% at 62, three highest year average plan.
- Health Insurance – Monthly contribution of $715.00 (Employee Only), $1,289.00 (Employee plus one), or $1,724.00 (Employee plus Family) for health, dental and vision premiums. Eligible employees who waive all medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, and supplemental AD&D benefits will receive an annual “Health Insurance Waiver Stipend” of $3,500.00 every first paycheck of December.
- Leave – Vacation beginning at 80 hours after one year, 96 hours of sick leave annually, 12 holidays.
- Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance – The City provides Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance.
- Other – Optional Deferred Compensation Plan, flexible benefits plan, pre-tax childcare plan, employee assistance program, and all other benefits which are received by General employees of the City per Memorandum of Understanding.

About the Position: This is a grant funded position within the Office of the City Manager that provides assistance in the Violence Intervention Grant Fund Program and/or the Grants Division. Incumbent assists with completing grant-related administrative tasks such as planning, organizing, researching, monitoring program activities, and ensuring compliance with programmatic, fiscal, and administrative requirements. The ideal incumbent will display strong analytical, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
This recruitment will be used to fill vacancies through the CaliforniansForAll Youth Workforce Development Program (CA4ALL). This program is intended to increase youth employment, and help address urgent challenges in their communities, while simultaneously learning key skills to develop youth interest in and experience towards a career. Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment: A valid State driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Employees work under typical office conditions and the noise level is usually quiet. Employees may occasionally be required to visit sites where they may be exposed to noise, dust, fumes; and work in inclement weather including heat, cold and rain. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone, use hands to finger, handle and feel computers and standard business equipment, and reach with hands and arms and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk and to travel to various locations and conduct site inspections. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Cost of Living Adjustments:
Effective the first pay period following July 1, 2024 salaries shall increase by 3%
