- Assist with the programmatic and financial aspects of grants awarded through the project.
- Assist with and oversee the grants application process, selection procedures, direction, and reporting.
- Collect and review the invoices against contract milestones from grantees and process for payment.
- Build the capacity of potential grantee organizations to ensure successful implementation of the grantee’s project and the sustainability of activities.
- Assist with the review and analysis of budget estimates for the purpose of cost reasonableness, consistency, and expense allowability.
- Assist in tracking and reviewing grants and contracts through the payment cycle, ensuring compliance with USAID agreements and DI policies.
- Contribute to DI reporting and other deliverables, as required.
- Prepare the monthly grantees financial projections, manage the budget and cash flow.
- Assist in reviewing and overseeing grantees’ internal reports, annual implementation plan, and monthly reports.
- Assist in ensuring post-award assessment is in accordance with relevant regulations, including but not limited to reporting, audits, grants modification, close-out etc. in accordance with USAID policy and procedures.
- Maintain all grants related files in an orderly fashion.
- Other similar tasks and responsibilities that DI might reasonably request.
- Master's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Management/Business Administration
- Minimum two years of professional experience in grants and financial management.
- Strong familiarity with USAID rules and regulations.
- Very comfortable with MS Word, MS Excel, email, internet navigation, etc.
- Ability to multi-task with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, self-starter attitude, and flexibility.
- Strong writing and verbal skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Professional fluency in English is required.
- This position reports to the Director of Grants Administration.
Grants OfficerDemocracy International (DI) is seeking to hire a Grants Officer for the USAID funded Ain Shohayota Activity in Bangladesh, based in Dhaka. The goal of the Activity is to promote people-centered justice through increased public participation, inclusivity, and data-driven approaches to strengthen the justice system. The specific objectives of this Activity are: i) Increase Demand for Responsive Justice Services, ii) Promote Pro-Bono Legal Services, and ii) Build and Utilize an Evidence-Base to Strengthen the Justice Services. This is a full-time position based in Dhaka and is likely to require some travel across the Activity focus districts within Bangladesh. This position is only open to the citizens of Bangladesh.
The ideal candidate will have responsibility to collaborate with and provide overall assistance to Director of Grants Administration for grants management.
