      How you'll make an impact in this role

      Ascension is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer, Manager to support the External Communications team. Reporting to the Senior Manager External Communications, this role will create high-quality, branded visual assets that support media relations, digital communications, executive visibility, messaging, and policy initiatives. Embedded directly within the System External Communications team, this role is responsible for translating messaging, strategy, and complex information into clear, compelling, and visually consistent designs across all public-facing digital and print channels.

      The ideal candidate will combine strong creative design craft with a keen understanding of communications strategy, storytelling, and audience needs. They will demonstrate an ability to translate complex ideas into clear visuals that enhance ongoing narratives, drive engagement, and meet evolving communications needs. The role balances creative innovation with precision, timeliness, and brand discipline.

      Responsibilities

      • Design high-quality visual assets for external communications channels, including:
      • Media and press materials (press kits, fact sheets, infographics, etc.).
      • Social media graphics and campaign visuals (social carousels, quote cards, statistic cards, simple motion graphics, short-form video graphics, profile and cover images, etc.).
      • Website assets (website graphics, landing page visuals, banners, data representations, pullout quotes, etc.).
      • Newsroom thumbnails and in-story graphics (photo collages, data visuals, etc.).
      • Executive and leadership communications assets (keynote and conference presentation decks, executive social media graphics, talking point visuals, etc.) .
      • Team presentations (slide decks and accompanying presentation visuals).
      • Reports (annual reports, fact sheets, print-ready layouts).
      • Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines, visual identity, and accessibility standards.
      • Maintain and update team visual asset libraries.
      • Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices in visual communications.

      What minimum qualifications you'll need

      Education:

      • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

      What additional requirements you'll need

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or other related field.
      • 5-7 years of experience in graphic design.
      • Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across digital and print design.
      • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
      • Strong understanding of branding, layout, typography, and color theory.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
