Job Description

- Design components that will be used to construct the tire.
- Create specifications to be used in the construction process.
- Conduct builds, analyze results, and present build reports to ensure tires are ready for mass production.
- Study potential improvements to the green tire design to ensure performance and manufacturability are acceptable.
- Monitor quality results to ensure the tire is performing as expected.
- Study and industrialize new materials for use in the production process.
- Work with other departments to resolve quality issues.
- Lead/Participate in quality planning for products, materials, processes, and methods.
- Draw logical conclusions based on in depth analysis of information
- Recognize causes and consequences of actions and events that are not likely apparent.
- Anticipate obstacles considering next steps.
- Persuade by appealing to reason using data, facts, and examples.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
- B.S. degree in scientific field and 0-5 years’ experience in process engineering or quality control manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
- Familiarity with quality protocols and understanding of ISO requirements is preferred.
- Attention to detail, data accuracy.
- Knowledge of CAD design software is preferred, but not required.
- French language skills a plus, but not required.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an immediate opening in Greenville, South Carolina for a Green Tire Design Engineer whose responsibilities include defining and maintaining the tire design in the facility, coordinating the industrialization of the respective parts to meet tire performance criteria, and ensuring tires launched in time for the market need. You will also be responsible for root cause analysis and helping to develop actions to resolve manufacturing and design issues.
