- Lead a team of Agronomy technicians to excel performance in all aspects of plant health; Coordinate all aspects of the Horticulture processes and procedures in the assigned area, including but not limited to, fertilization, irrigation, pest control and other crop needs, daily.
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of novel technologies for male sterility in corn and develop a sustainable plan for efficient execution at scale.
- Coordinate and actively collaborate in the development of site-specific protocols for male sterility conversion using such novel technologies, adopting existing standard procedures. Ensure all final processes are performed according to the criteria and requirements defined by the Conversion Team.
- Perform consistent crop and irrigation system inspection to ensure that the moisture requirement is up to the standard; recommend and perform adjustments as needed. Monitor and adjust computer control systems based on optimal soil moisture content.
- Perform all required sampling on time, including water EC and pH measurement, soil analysis for EC and pH, media and foliar sampling for lab analysis depending on the requirement.
- Record and timely report all data required; ensure proper record-keeping following standards and protocols. Record and report inputs (like water and feed) on all crops for all growth stages, from the beginning to the end of the crop cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agronomy, Plant Sciences/Breeding, Biology, or related field plus 3 years of experience. Master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on greenhouse operations experience.
- Must possess or obtain a pesticide applicator's license within 6 months of employment.
- Minimum 1-year experience in irrigation and nutrient management.
- Excellent knowledge of greenhouse environmental controls and growing systems.
- Experience following research protocols and maintaining detailed records.
- Proven ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Able and willing to work occasional weekends.
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Basic Spanish language competency.
