      We’re hiring for Summer Camp 2025! Join our camp team and guide children through an awesome summer experience!

      The Anne Springs Close Greenway offers full-day options to youth from 3 years old - 9th grade when school is not in session. The Greenway’s 2,100 acres of preserved land allows for hiking, outdoor play and nature activities for a unique camp experience. The Greenway gives children a chance to experience and celebrate nature. Campers end the week muddy, tired and full of memories made with new friends in the great outdoors!

      OVERVIEW

      The Lead Counselor will serve as a role model counselor while supporting camp counselors, Site Directors, and other camp leadership staff. Lead counselors should be able to model a variety of ideal behaviors and actions while guiding camp counselors. The lead counselor is responsible for teaching, coordinating and carrying out activities and guiding both campers and counselors in their personal growth. Lead Counselors will work in various camps offering outdoor adventure, including activities such as kayaking, hiking, archery, field games, mountain biking, fishing, and campfire.

      Must be Available during the following dates:

      Camp Training Sessions:
      May 19th- 23rd – Leadership Staff Training (attendance required)
      May 27th- 30th – All Staff training (attendance required)

      Camp Dates: June 2nd - August 1st , Monday-Friday

      KEY FUNCTIONS

      • Provide support for Site Director and counselors as needed
      • Serve as a role model counselor for camp counselor staff
      • Ensure all camp policies and procedures are being followed by staff and campers
      • Support and motivate camp counselor staff, to include tasks such as observations, behavior modeling, & conflict resolution support
      • Responsible for cleanliness and organization of assigned area; ensure campers and staff treat all persons as well as camp and personal property with respect
      • Maintain high standards of safety and security to prevent accidents and to respond appropriately in emergency situations
      • Is considered part of the leadership team and assists groups as necessary
      • Ensures COVID protocols are being followed and maintained at a high standard
      • All other duties as assigned

      • Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities
      • Promote good sportsmanship
      • Ability to interact with all age levels
      • Certified or ability to become certified in First Aid/CPR

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      • Must be 18 years of age or older
      • Must be able to attend both weeks of leadership staff and all staff training
      • Ability to work majority of the summer. All camp staff get one consecutive week off during summer

      ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

      • Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications
      • Child Protection training; will train

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      Some physical requirements of a Camp Counselor position include: endurance, prolonged standing,
      some bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, biking, climbing, and stretching; requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate outdoor equipment and camp activities;
      requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50lbs; daily exposure to inconsistent weather conditions such as sun, heat, or rain and animals such as bugs and snakes, etc.
