      Job Description

      Due to Maternity cover, we are now seeking a Group Facilities Lead to join our Facilities department at our Appleton Thorn site on a 12 month fixed term contract.

      As Facilities Lead you will oversee the facilities management and operations within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of facility management principles, and a proven track record in effectively managing facility-related functions. The Group Facilities Lead will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning physical environment for our employees and visitors.

      This is a full time, permanent position Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm offering a competitive salary and package with the opportunity to work for a forward thinking market leader.

      Job responsibilities of Facilities Lead include:

      • Lead and manage a team of facility management staff, including facilities operatives, technicians and maintenance personnel.
      • Develop and manage budgets for facility operations, maintenance, and any other facilities related projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
      • Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality facility-related services.
      • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, implementing and monitoring appropriate protocols.
      • Develop and implement emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and safety measures to safeguard employees and visitors.
      • Address and resolve facility-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
      • Escalating any concerns or tasks that fall outside the expected timelines to your line manager
      • Monitor System (Assure) for reactive requests, ensuring all jobs are logged with relevant contractor inhouse, or external
      • Closing jobs and update system with information when completed after confirmation from site or contractor
      • Foster strong communication and collaboration with other departments to address facility-related needs and provide support.
      • First point of call for depots to report maintenance issues requiring contractor’s attention.
      • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in facility management.
      • Check jobs are complete with site management / FM, receipting in the system to allow payment.
      • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to facility management activities and expenses.
      • Managing the renewal contracts for the upcoming year.
      • Ensuring the Facilities PPM schedule up to date.

      Qualifications

      To apply for the role of Facilities Lead you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications:

      • Proficient in budget development, management, and resource allocation.
      • Strong understanding of facility management principles, building systems, and maintenance best practices.
      • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
      • A confident individual with excellent and effective communication skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
      • Project management expertise, from planning to execution and evaluation.
      • Experience within an facilities/property environment would be an advantage
      • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
      • Problem solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
      • Proficiency in using facility management software and tools.
      • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
