      Description

      POSITION PURPOSE:

      The Group Services team focuses on welcoming and facilitating successful group visit experiences for students, youth, and adults. Under the direction of the Group Services Supervisor, the Group Services Lead Associate is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the department, including on-site reception for all group visits and administrative duties as requested. The Lead Associate acts as a resource for the Group Services team and cultivates strong interdepartmental relationships through collaboration. As a flex-time position, this role will work 30-39 hours a week, and will be eligible for full benefits. Spanish language fluency preferred.

      This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Group Services in the Sales and Group Services department.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Direct supervision of Group Program Associates

      Programming support

      Administrative work

      • Oversee onsite group reception team and assist with collection of payment and organization of tours upon arrival
      • Interact with visitors, assisting and addressing needs, concerns, and complaints to ensure an outstanding visitor experience
      • Prepare weekly schedules with field trip and group tour details for interdepartmental use
      • Assist with training of Youth Program Associates to ensure a high performing team, including providing on-the-spot coaching and feedback to associates
      • Act as a resource for questions relating to group ticketing and reservations as well as general Museum policies
      • Initiate positive redirection for Youth Program Associates in regards to any performance-related issues
      • Serve as a point of contact for volunteer staff aides and coordinate their daily duties as assigned
      • Provide sales and administrative support, assisting with special projects related to the department
      • Other duties as needed and assigned
      • Consistent usage of the Racial Equity Lens in day-to-day operations.
      • Yearly goal setting to support Racial Equity Roadmap initiatives.

      Qualifications


      QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Skills, etc.):

      • Previous customer service experience required
      • Previous supervisory experience preferred
      • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with diverse groups of people, including visitors, staff, volunteers, and donors
      • Ability to work in a multi-tasking fast paced environment.
      • Dynamic; able and willing to be flexible if changes arise
      • Ability to work independently and as a team
      • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
      • Spanish language fluency preferred

      Position type: This position will be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME-CWU .

      Pay: The hiring hourly range for the position is $19.00 - $23.75 based on experience. A $0.50 language differential is available for hours worked for candidates who have Spanish speaking proficiency.
