What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Interact with members by phone and email, providing support and information
- Respond to inquiries from non-members about Handiham Program Membership
- Assist members with Amateur Radio equipment accessibility for individuals with disabilities
- Support students studying for license exams and maintain communication regarding their progress
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and assist in promoting the Handiham Program at events
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be 18 years of age with relevant education and/or experience
- 5+ years of strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5+ years of experience as an effective team player who builds strong relationships
- 2+ years of computer skills, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets
- FCC Technician Radio License required within 6 months of hire
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Ham Radio Operator with regular on-air activity and club involvement
- Experience mentoring individuals to obtain FCC licenses
- Familiarity with assistive technology for individuals who are visually impaired
- Experience with various amateur radio operations and technologies
