What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Identify, solicit, underwrite, and sell new and renewal Specialty accounts to drive profitable growth
- Apply technical, sales, and analytical skills to provide insurance solutions for risk management
- Manage an assigned portfolio to meet gross written premium and profitability goals
- Negotiate and close accounts aligned with business strategy while building strong agency relationships
- Prepare and analyze information on underwriting decisions and market factors affecting pricing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Generally, 3-7+ years of Specialty or standard commercial lines experience
- 3-4+ years’ experience in driving agency relationships resulting in profitable new and renewal business
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external business partners
- Ability to exercise judgment and make sound business decisions effectively based on level of authority

- Experience with complex accounts and a proven ability to adapt quickly to change
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems effectively
- Proven track record in relationship management and producer activities to improve yield and retention ratios
- Familiarity with market and competitor information to enhance decision-making
- Knowledge of Hanover’s products and appetite for effective communication at the point of sale
