What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Identify, solicit, and underwrite new and renewal Specialty accounts, driving profitable growth
- Manage assigned portfolio to achieve gross written premium and profitability goals
- Utilize market and competitor information to enhance relationships and decision-making
- Build and maintain effective relationships with agents and customers to improve yield and retention ratios
- Prepare and analyze underwriting decisions, requirements, and company appetite to drive results
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Generally, 3-7+ years of Specialty or standard commercial lines experience
- 3-4+ years of experience driving agency relationships resulting in profitable new and renewal business
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external partners
- Ability to exercise judgment and make sound business decisions within level of authority
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with complex accounts in the Specialty insurance sector
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to change and solve problems
- Familiarity with financial reporting and insurance performance measures
- Proven track record in relationship management and negotiation
- Experience with sales practices and utilizing systems to drive results
