      Position Overview

      The Hardscapes Training Manager delivers training for field associates in the Hardscapes category by serving as the subject matter expert and partnering with the Talent Development team to build organizational capabilities. The Hardscapes Training Manager is also responsible for operationalizing our Hardscapes Category / Product knowledge and ensuring training is delivered to the field to build this capability.

      What you'll do:

      • Provide input and subject matter expertise to help the Talent Development team better understand field learning needs
      • Work with Talent Development team to build an annual training plan and budget for the field; monitor changes in plan and adjust accordingly
      • Follow current trends and emerging innovations in hardscape category; researches, evaluates, recommends, and provides recommendations on new formats and technologies in training to enhance effectiveness
      • Make recommendations on revising learning programs and delivery techniques to ensure the curriculum and methods are relevant and up-to-date
      • Assist with the tracking of certification/re-certification of SiteOne Hardscapes Certification requirements
      • Develop train-the-trainer programs to provide new training material and content required.
      • Review content and make necessary adjustments to material
      • Deliver operational training and re-fresher training programs that effectively transfer knowledge, increase skills and performance, and engage attendees in the importance and value of the material
      • Coordinate training sessions (e.g., communications, schedules, meeting rooms, participant information, workbooks, etc.) to ensure logistics are invisible and to support the environment for optimal learning
      • Evaluate course content accuracy, appropriateness, attendee engagement, and alignment with learning objectives and business needs
      • Provide regular reporting on the training conducted and its effectiveness to field leadership
      • Serve as resident Hardscapes Expert for SiteOne by training other trainers and providing product / category support as needed

      Skills We Are Seeking

      • Expert-level knowledge of Hardscapes category
      • Knowledge of adult learning methodology and techniques and able to apply instructional design knowledge (e.g., concepts, principles, etc.)
      • Knowledge of emerging technology to incorporate into engaging learning strategies
      • Presentation skills and the ability to effectively present training content and facilitate participants' learning
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
      • Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships and foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and support
      • Ability to convey clear, concise information in verbal, written, electronic, and other communication formats; and to demonstrate active listening while engaging others
      • Ability to adapt and adjust planned work through analyzing work demands, competing priorities, and tight deadlines; to understand the most effective and efficient means to accomplish tasks within the parameters of the organizational structure, processes, systems, and policies
      • Ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of stakeholders (e.g., internal and external customers, etc.) in a timely manner
      • Ability to travel 60-90% of the time

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
      • 4-7 years training delivery and in hardscape sales
