      Why Lytx:

      In this hands-on role as a Hardware Validation Engineer, you will combine your knowledge of hardware while completing and supporting various validation testing of the Lytx devices.

      You'll get to:

      As a key member of our Hardware Validation Team, your work will be essential in helping us ensure every product and system is evaluated, tested, and validated to ensure it meets our internal and customer expectations. Help us create procedures that drive the testing of our products and build comprehensive test plans to cover all aspects of system level test. Build Relationships with Hardware engineering and other teams as you set the plan and ensure execution of all testing. Technical knowledge will be key in evaluating our products, identifying issues as you work with multi-functional teams to ensure all issues are resolved. Partner with R&D Engineering, Device Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Supply Chain, which will offer the opportunity to use your effective interpersonal skills across different levels in our dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment!

      Job tasks:

      • Participate in Engineering Design Reviews and help drive the implementation of test methodologies and guidelines for these designs.

      • Work with 3rd party design houses (JDM: Joint Design Manufacture) to review and approve Manufacturing testing (PCBA test plans, component level tests, and assembly or Device Box level testing)

      • Conduct Validation testing on the component level, circuit level or device level.

      • Create and release test reports for this validation testing

      • Work with the Engineering Team to develop test scripts for Hardware Validation test equipment (Thermal chambers, programmable power supplies, simulation testers, etc.)

      • Work with the Engineering Team to develop scripts to allow the Hardware team to easily evaluate the device logs from testing and debug the failures.

      • Work with Engineering Team Leads to develop comprehensive test plans and test procedures for Lytx products

      • Incorporate Statistical Analysis into Hardware Validation Testing

      • Test Lytx product capabilities & features to confirm requirements are met and ensure a smooth customer experience.

      • Support solving firmware or hardware issue at a system and component level.

      • Participate in field testing of Lytx products

      • Work with a team of skilled technicians to ensure timely execution of the test plans

      • Provide status updates and final reporting of validation efforts

      • Design Validation Test Procedures with an emphasis on repeatability, standardization, and accuracy of testing

      • Finish the Validation Tests – including Firmware, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical and RF

      • Document and report all test status and results to the Engineering teams

      • Support Failure Analysis (FA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on issues found in test

      • Work with external labs to coordinate required testing

      Basic Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar subject area

      • Minimum of 0- 2 years of experience with validation or qualification testing

      • Experience with high volume consumer electronics

      • Familiar with digital, power and RF hardware designs.

      • Familiar with wireless technology (Cellular, Wi-Fi, BT, etc.)

      • Experience in different levels of testing; Design Verification Testing, Functional, Environmental Stress Screening

      • Experience in object-oriented programming in one or more of the following: Python, LabView, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic.

      • Scripting in Windows and Linux environments.

      • Experience with using command line tools.

      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

      • Experience as a key team member of a fast-paced, dynamic Hardware team a plus

      • Knowledge of video technology is a definite plus

      • Experience in using wireless and digital test equipment is a definite plus

      • Experience with identifying, reproducing, documenting, and reporting bugs or issues

      • Familiar with manufacturing and assembly process

      • Excellent skills in MS Office products

      • Enjoys hands on problem solving.

      • Position is on-site in San Diego.

      Hourly rate is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for an incentive compensation plan. The expected hiring hourly rate for this position is:

      $42.19 - $51.56
