      Job Description

      Develops, directs, and coaches an Intercollegiate Varsity Cheerleading Team. Conducts all practices. Instructs athletes in the proper technique for fundamentals of cheerleading (e.g., tumbling, partner stunting, pyramids and basket tosses, and crowd leading techniques). Responsible for the development of all performances and routines as part of a comprehensive game atmosphere initiative and UCA College Game Day National Competition. Coordinates participation and performances at home and away football games, home men’s and women’s basketball games, home women’s volleyball games, along with postseason women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball games, and other home sports as requested. Collaborates with operations coordinator on the requests for cheerleaders’ participation in department, University, community, and private events. Manages all administrative aspects of the team including scheduling, travel, equipment needs, budget, and staffing. Manages all camps and clinics, cheerleader recruiting and selection process, appearances, and competitions. Monitors academic progress of team and responsible for holistically developing each student-athlete. Participates in development activities to promote the program. Performs other duties as assigned.

      Minimum Education Required
      Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

      Additional Education Desired
      Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

      Required Qualifications
      Experience in coaching cheerleading required. Experience at an intercollegiate institution and in development of choreography desired. Must be able to work on weekends and evenings and to travel with cheerleaders to away athletic events.
