      Who are we?

      Sanlam Developing Markets [SDM] (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group. The cluster focusses on retail products, as well as group schemes.

      What will you do?

      Responsible for a section of the human resources division in an organisation or for the entire human resources function in a smaller organisation or within one or more divisions or subsidiaries. Includes recruitment, relations issues, staff counselling, career path planning, employee mobility, employee assistance, and managing the performance appraisal exercise. May deal with annual salary increases, employees dismissal, warning, and other legal aspects related to the HR function.

      What will make you successful in this role?

      • Develop Enablement HC Strategy to support delivery of the Retail Mass Cluster Business Strategy
      • Accountable for talent management and strategic workforce planning practices
      • Accountable for the Employer Branding, Talent Attraction and Acquisition practices
      • Support the development of employee centric Onboarding strategy and practice
      • Custodian of the Retail Mass Enablement’s Performance Management framework to drive delivery of the business strategy and culture of high performance
      • Drives the delivery of the required talent pipeline through robust Succession Planning in partnership with all key stakeholders
      • Drive talent mobility across the Retail Mass Cluster (cross boarding and offboarding) through the Cluster Executives and business leaders
      • Reporting and measurement related to area of accountability
      • Drive talent management practices across the business
      • Develop and drive the employee experience roadmap, measurement and feedback

      Qualification and Experience

      Degree or Diploma with 8 to 10 years related experience or qualified by extensive experience.
