      Job Purpose

      With approximately 4 million contacts cleared every day across multiple asset classes, ICE Clear Europe (ICEU) is one of the world’s most diverse and leading clearing houses. It provides central counterparty clearing and risk management services for interest rate, equity index, energy and agricultural derivatives, as well as European credit default swaps.

      The Corporate Development team is the key point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders (within ICE Clear Europe, the ICE Group and external stakeholders) interacting with ICEU. The team is also responsible for new products and services implemented at the clearing house.

      The Head of Corporate Development will be a key member of the Senior Management Team and will report to the President of ICE Clear Europe.

      The successful candidate will have extensive exposure to the ICE leadership team and the ICEU Board of Directors. The role provides a unique platform and requires a broad skillset that includes understanding of the risks facing a complex, systemically important financial institution, as well as in depth specific experience of financial derivatives and the risk management and operational processes required to manage them.

      Responsibilities

      The responsibilities include:

      • Work closely and effectively with stakeholders to ensure that ICE’s priority business initiatives and objectives which require involvement from ICE Clear Europe are attended to. This involves working closely with ICE Futures Europe, ICE Futures US, ICE Endex and ICE Futures Abu Dhabi. This objective includes, inter alia, support for product development, launch of new products, new business initiatives and related technology enhancements
      • Manage, prioritize and rationalize the requests addressed to ICEU from both internal (exchange and product teams) and external stakeholders (clearing members and clients).
      • Be one of the public faces of ICE Clear Europe and the wider ICE Group for clearing members and market participants
      • Communicate promptly and accurately with clearing members, market participants and other users on all service developments (positive or negative)
      • Develop productive relationships with users of ICEU’s clearing service including ensuring the service adequately meets different user group needs in terms of access, product scope and process integration
      • Work with the President and the Senior Management Team in ensuring that ICE Clear Europe continues to efficiently operate in all relevant jurisdictions. This responsibility includes both: (i) contributing to the political and regulatory debate on financial services legislation; and (ii) implementing changes required by regulatory developments
      • Monitor key metrics (activity, revenues, product listings / de-listings) and provide business insights to the Senior Management Team
      • Incorporate forward-looking assessment of risks (compliance, geo-political, economic, etc.) in the new product and business design; additionally evaluate and mitigate the impact of strategic decisions on ICEU’s risk profile
      • Management responsibility for ICE Clear Europe's Corporate Development Department (current headcount of 2 FTEs) and on-going development of other ICE Clear Europe employees.
      • Be an active part of ICE Clear Europe’s Senior Management Team

      Knowledge and Experience

      • Educated to a Masters degree level in a finance or quantitative subject or equivalent experience;
      • Strong working knowledge of Listed Derivatives (particularly Commodities / Energy markets)
      • A customer-focused mindset and experience in a role with significant customer interaction is essential
      • Strong communications skills and ability to communicate effectively with different audiences and at different seniority levels (in written and oral form) including the ability to push back effectively and tactfully regardless of the level of seniority of the audience
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to see tasks through
      • Quick learner with strong problem solving and analytical skills who takes accountability for their decisions
      • A team player who is comfortable operating in an open environment and who shares knowledge with others

      Schedule

      This role is on-site in our London, Milton Gate Office.
