ETFs present a major opportunity to package our strategies, complementing existing capabilities offered through mutual funds and mandates. Launching our ETF capability in 2024 is a strategic priority for Robeco and we are establishing a specialist team to allow us to realise this ambition.

Position & Requirements

Position

The Head of ETF Capital Markets role will lead the development and execution of Robeco’s ETF Capital Markets function, working with stakeholders internally and externally to ensure successful launch and ongoing performance of our ETF offering.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of the ETF operating model, ensuring that the model is designed to offer efficient creation/redemption and pricing of ETFs. Define requirements for any technology solutions or interfaces required.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day ETF Capital Markets activities, including monitoring of on-exchange activity and coordination of creation/redemption processes. Create KPIs for measurement and reporting of activities.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external capital markets partners including authorised participants, market makers, exchanges and other third-party vendors.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders including investment management, trading and operational teams to ensure smooth operation of the ETF platform.
• Collaborate with internal and stakeholders to support new product launches.
• Work closely with sales and marketing colleagues to identify client opportunities and organise events, leveraging external relationships.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring that the ETF platform is fully compliant, efficient and evolves in response to these market developments.
• Act as a point of contact for sales teams, providing timely responses to client requests and attending clients meetings.
• Track creation/redemption activities and match this to sales pipeline to allow appropriate measurement and incentivisation of ETF sales teams.
• Provide training and education on ETF trading, liquidity and mechanics, both internally and externally.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in an ETF Capital Markets role, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong relationship management skills and existing industry relationships across the ETF ecosystem.
• Knowledge of European ETF client base and ideally have existing client relationships.
• Detailed understanding of ETF operations, portfolio management, trading and market structure.
• Knowledge of a range of asset classes including equities, fixed income and FX.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• High levels of motivation and resilience. Ability to bring an entrepreneurial mindset to developing this new capability with an established and successful asset manager.
