      About this opportunity

You'll lead a high-impact team, driving growth and outstanding client results for businesses with £25m-£100m turnovers.

You’ll be accountable for a dedicated national team of around 90 Commercial Regional Directors and Relationship Managers/Directors, being responsible for a portfolio of approximately 1,500 customers. The portfolio demonstrates £200m in income, a £2bn lending balance sheet, and £10bn in deposits.

This is a rare opportunity to lead in a high-growth segment, build market-leading client propositions, and shape the future of commercial banking for some of the UK’s most dynamic mid-sized businesses.

Your role and responsibilities will include:

      • Define and deliver a five-year strategic plan to grow the Mid Corporates franchise, championing the client proposition and aligning with the broader commercial objectives.
      • Lead investment and growth plans for the segment, collaborating with Proposition, Strategy, and Sector Heads to develop and optimise sector-focused solutions.
      • Drive acquisition of high-value clients by using the bank’s full suite of capabilities, ensuring seamless regional coverage in partnership with Corporate & Institutional Banking leadership.
      • Lead and inspire a high-performing national team, embedding a client-centric, insight-led sales culture while acting as a visible market ambassador for the bank.
      • Apply strong credit expertise to manage risk, ensuring all lending aligns with asset quality standards and follows internal and external regulatory requirements.
      • Role model inclusive leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, capability building, and succession planning aligned with the banks future skills agenda.

      • Scale leadership experience across a large, dispersed team.
      • Deep understanding of credit risk, regulatory frameworks, and balance sheet management.
