      Head of Sales, Food & Beverage - Europe

      Huhtamaki's Flexible Packaging segment is currently looking for a Head of Sales for our food and beverage business unit in Europe.

      Reporting into the VP Sales, Europe this role is responsible for leading and developing the sales organization of the food and beverage BU, by defining and implementing a common sales strategy with the objective of achieving Huhtamaki's ambitious growth plans.

      To be successful in this role, you will need to have a demonstrable background in leading regional sales teams, have excellent communication skills and be a highly motivated and self-driven individual.

      The role can be based from one of our sites in Europe, ideally in Ronsberg, Germany. However, we will also consider home based for the right candidate (Germany, Italy, France, UK or Spain).

      Responsibilities:

      • Leading and managing regional sales and product management team in Europe (10-12 people)

      • Monitoring NBD with existing and new accounts

      • Creating and developing common sales processes for the Business Unit together with the Category Manager

      • Budget achievement for the Business Unit

      • Longer-term sales / volume planning – mid-term strategic planning

      • Monitoring of European tender procedures

      • Improvement of the supply position in the Business Unit

      • Involvement in the preparation of international contracts

      • Preparation and update of the sales forecast for the Business Unit

      • Monitoring of the sales activities using our BI tool and CRM tool

      • Monitoring and control of the WC and contingency activities

      • Defines and steers marketing activities in close cooperation with Category Manager & marketing

      • Actively monitors trends in the relevant categories & key customers and gives input and support to our innovation strategy, strongly supported by Product Management.

      Experience, Education & Skills Required:

      • A degree in economics or technical area (e.g. chemistry / packaging technology or a comparable qualification)

      • MBA desirable

      • At least 10-15 years of professional experience in sales, preferably in the packaging industry

      • Dynamic sales personality with drive & charisma

      • Conceptual thinking, strategic mindset, creativity and innovative powers

      • Presentation skills including self-presentation

      • Experiences in managing and developing people & teams within a regional or European wide leadership role

      • Familiarity with modern information technologies

      • Willingness to make extended business trips

      • Proficiency in English and preferably another foreign language

      • Multicultural understanding
