As part of our vision to transform housing services the Housing Needs & Homelessness Service has recently been redesigned. Our ambition is to create a service which is understood, fair, accessible and residents are active participants in their journey towards finding a settled home, underpinned by the new NEC technology being implemented.

      We have two new exciting senior roles working with the Director of Homelessness Prevention & Accommodation within the division to ensure the development and transformation of services is delivered. The Head of Homelessness and Allocations and the Head of Temporary Accommodation & Support are crucial to the success of the team.

      About the role:

      Responsible for the assessment and provision of housing and accommodation for the residents of Croydon, income maximisation, identifying issues at the point of need and effectively targeting support and embedding resilience within our residents to minimise repeat access and deliver a long-term community based sustainable solutions.

      The strategic lead in relation to provision of emergency, temporary, and settled accommodation, income maximisation and support service.

      To lead on the delivery of Homelessness & Rough Sleeping strategies and pathways to ensure statutory obligations are discharged.

      Ensure the provision of a consistent and high quality services to customers, by leading and motivating managers and their teams and embedding a culture of excellent customer service that delivers great community outcomes at real value.

      About you

      A successful track record and background of consistent achievement at senior management level in a local authority or large complex organisation.

      Demonstrable track record of successful achievement in cost effective provision of accommodation for homeless households through external commissioning/supply and management.

      Knowledge of relevant national, regional and local policy in order to develop strategies and plans.

      A good knowledge of the legal, policy and financial framework within which housing need and homelessness services operate.

      Ability to work in a collaborative way to transform service delivery including the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.

      Ensure the provision of a consistent and high quality services to customers, by leading and motivating managers and their teams and embedding a culture of excellent customer service that delivers great community outcomes at real value.
