      Position Description

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

      1. Analyzes and evaluate a variety of program related data for the purpose of ensuring that program initiatives and activities meet BOA objectives while adhering to assigned budget limitations.

      2. Communicates with employees, supervisors, directors and outside organizations for the purpose of providing Health and Wellness program awareness and assisting with program implementation.

      3. Prepares a variety of materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, procedures, instructional and marketing pieces, assessments, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and /or conveying information.

      4. Responds to inquiries for the purpose of providing information and/or direction.

      5. Plan, organize and direct the activities related to group health, group life, dental, vision, flexible fringe benefits, and ancillary benefits.

      6. Oversee the maintenance of employee benefits records.

      7. Coordinate annual open enrollment along with quarterly new hire enrollments.

      8. Prepare deduction/contribution reports for each payroll.

      9. Review and assure compliance with Federal and Florida Statutes as it affects employee benefits.

      10. Coordinate work flow and procedures between Employee Benefits and other departments.

      11. Prepare and develop communication and educational materials regarding the benefits package for all the insured employees.

      12. Oversee the reconciliation of health plan monthly eligible reports

      13. Oversee the reconciliation of premium reports from medical and flexible plan companies.

      14. Performs reconciliation and balancing on the billings for group health, prescription drugs, life insurance and any other form of billing that may fall within the scope of Insurance/Benefits division.

      15. Maintain all active employee and COBRA enrollment records for the group health program. Maintains and up-to-date, timely and accurate correspondence of all benefit changes to participants.

      16. Responsible for the coordination of employee FMLA benefits.

      17. Report all breaches of Company Policy or Code of Ethics that you have knowledge of, hear about, or see (regardless of who is involved in the breach) to the HR Department.

      18. Report all unsafe conditions that could affect clients/inmates or employees which you become aware of to the HR Department immediately.

      19. Report all Workers Compensation injuries, whether or not they require medical attention or not to the HR Department.

      20. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

      Position Qualifications


      EXPERIENCE:

      Prefer five years of experience in benefits administration. Must have working knowledge of FMLA/LOA/ADA. Minimum of three years of data processing. Must be very organized and able to multi-task. Must have strong communication and customer service skills.

      EDUCATION:

      Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Human Resources or related field.

      Education and Experience may be substituted for each other on a year-for-year basis as deemed applicable.
