      GENERAL FUNCTION:

      Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the Health & Wellness Director (the “Director”) is responsible for overall supervision and leadership of health and wellness operations for the Eastside Branch. The Director is responsible for revenue growth, fiscal management, financial development, facility management, hiring, training and supervision of staff. The H&W Director will provide members with the continuity and stability that will help in member retention and involvement. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

      SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

      · Overall responsibility for all health and wellness programs and services at the Eastside branch

      · Responsible for hiring, training, supervision, and continued development of all program staff at the Eastside branch.

      · Act as a liaison between members and program regarding parent or participant concerns and work as the key leader to assure that a safe, fun and quality program is provided in all areas.

      · General oversight of all on site programs in accordance with the policies, values, and standards established by the Association.

      · Responsible for assisting with the financial development of Annual Campaign for both sites.

      · Responsible for facilitating department revenue growth and overall enhancement and increase of programs and services.

      · Responsible for the overall facility appearance, and related equipment.

      · Accountable for department budget development and management. Ensure a strong fiscal position and appropriate resource allocation.

      · Ensure all program operations are consistent with Association procedures, including maintenance, emergency, accident, purchasing, personnel, and accounting systems.

      · Implement programs that identify safety, quality, and excellent customer service as top priorities.

      · Serve as a member of the branch staff team, assisting with special events, programming, and committees as assigned.

      · Maintain and further develop contacts with community agencies, corporations, and potential donors.

      · Work with branch board members, volunteers as required. Lead Branch Board Committee as assigned.

      · Maintain all required certifications.

      · Attend all required meetings and training.

      Requirements

      · A high school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field preferred.

      · Possess a current nationally recognized certification from ONE of the following organizations: ACSM, ACE, NSCA or NASM.

      · Must have at least three years health and fitness experience, to include personal training and group training experience.

      · At least three years’ experience in a supervisory role with skills in recruiting, training and staff management.

      · Must be self-motivated, hands on team leader with strong communications, networking and collaboration skills.

      · High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service and facilities.

      · Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

      · Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and spoken communication skills.

      · Demonstrated success in driving revenue and managing expenses.

      · Experience in fundraising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation

      · Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.


      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

      · Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including demonstrating exercise movements, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

      · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
