What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage and respond to requests for the release of protected health information (PHI) and other sensitive documentation
- Log and process requests for medical records in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Review requestor information to determine records to be released while ensuring compliance with HIPAA
- Communicate with requestors and release records in a timely and secure manner
- Assist site location teams with medical records management and conversion to electronic formats
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of related experience in healthcare working with medical records
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Pathologist preferred
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT®) certification preferred
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or hospice preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with PointClickCare and/or MatrixCare Brightree
- MDS experience
