      Human Resources (HR) support each of CommBank’s business units through recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, remuneration benefits, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, project work and leadership development and training.

      The role of the Group’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing team is to support the Group’s commitment to fulfilling corporate and legal health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities by implementing and maintaining systems and processes to provide a safe and healthy place of work.

      Do work that matters

      • Assist with the effective delivery of the Group’s health, safety and wellbeing strategy to all business units.

      • Engage and consult with managers and business unit stakeholders to drive improvements in health, safety and wellbeing performance and outcomes and to ensure they have full visibility of HS&W issues within their business.

      • Collaboratively work with other areas of the broader HS&W Team to ensure a seamless connection between HS&W project development and the delivery to the businesses.

      • Coordinate and conduct internal health and safety audits and participate in the external health and safety audit as required.

      • Undertake health and safety risk and research projects, reports, presentations and serious incident investigations as required.

      • Manage the implementation of health and safety consultative arrangements within area of responsibility.

      • Provide professional and timely health and safety advice and strategic direction as required.

      • Develop professional working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders

      • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your Manager that can be competently and safely performed and are within your capability and expertise.

      • Travel may be required from time to time as part of this role.

      We’re interested in hearing from people with

      • Formal tertiary qualifications in a health and safety (or related) field

      • Exceptional customer management/service skills

      • Strong ability to manage external stake holders of various levels (customers, contractors, and the Regulator)

      • An agile mindset to balance competing priorities and with various work steams

      • First rate communication skills (written and oral)

      • A go getter with the inquisitiveness to deal with and interact with all levels of the organisation.

      • Broad HS&W technical skills

      • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety and related legislation.

      • Must demonstrate prior experience in a health and safety role, ideally from the finance sector

      This is a 15 month secondment / maximum term contract Sydney based opportunity.
