Plan, implement and coordinate all research efforts of the Ohio Substance Abuse Monitoring Network (OSAM) for the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS)
· Represent OhioMHAS with outside entities to provide state and federal agencies and communities with information related to drug use and behavioral health service trends across Ohio, with the intent of assisting constituents in making administrative decisions about behavioral health service planning and policies
· Conduct OSAM research and analysis (including data collection and/or monitoring of data collection) in accordance with the OSAM research collection methodology
· Prepare all OSAM research reports
· Conduct Focus Groups/Interviews for various OSAM research initiatives on an ongoing basis
· Assist in the collection of statistical data and analysis of qualitative data for the presentation of findings to be delivered to the Core Oversight Committee and state-level and department-level leadership
· Represent OSAM through interaction with substance abuse prevention and treatment constituency groups
· Serve as technical advisor in the area of behavioral health and epidemiological research by keeping interested parties abreast of findings and responding to requests for data and training
· Assist in the presentation of information to all interested parties regarding the OSAM program development, progress and results
· Prepare and distribute OSAM information
· Organize and implement studies and processes to be used during analysis
· Implement solutions to problems studied
· Assist in and/or develops new systems, policies and/or programs to increase agency efficiency and effectiveness
· Represent agency as topical expert in meetings and conferences related to substance abuse and mental health trends in Ohio
· Act as lead worker for assigned research staff including contract regional epidemiologists
· Develop and convene standing workgroups from around the state representing multiple systems and agencies to review OSAM findings to ensure that a comprehensive and accurate portrayal of drug problems in Ohio is portrayed in all OSAM reports and department- and state-level communications
