**What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):**
- Supervise the cost reporting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and development
- Oversee regulatory cost reporting, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Conduct financial analysis and accounting, validating data and performing reconciliations
- Manage operational processes, creating workflows and improving reporting accuracy
- Lead staff by reviewing work for accuracy, providing feedback, and interpreting state guidance
**What is Required (Qualifications):**
- Minimum educational requirement: Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least two years of applicable work experience in a related environment
- Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Strong foundational background in healthcare finance and regulatory reporting
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in data manipulation and analysis
**How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):**
- Specialized training in healthcare finance or related areas
- Familiarity with New York State cost reports and Medicaid/Medicare payment structures
- Experience with financial analysis concepts such as medical loss ratios and IBNR
- Knowledge of Medicaid managed care and cost-sharing arrangements
- Previous experience in mentoring or supervising teams in a financial context
