      Job Summary

      We are seeking a highly skilled, part-time, in-office Service Desk Technician with excellent customer service abilities to provide Tier 1–2 IT technical support for our organization. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on IT experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently to support users and resolve technical issues.

      Job Description

      Work Schedule:

      • Part-time, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
      • Occasional on-call support may be required.
      • Office location: San Jose, California.
      • This is an in-office role. Remote work is not available for this position.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Provide Tier 1–2 help desk support via phone, in-person, email, and the help desk ticketing system.
      • Respond to and resolve user issues related to desktop/laptop hardware, software, printers, and basic networking.
      • Track and manage support tickets to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and user expectations.
      • Troubleshoot basic issues related to Active Directory, DHCP, LAN/WAN, and system access.
      • Support the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of end-user devices.
      • Assist with mobile device management (MDM) tasks as needed.
      • Coordinate IT equipment moves and setups for users as requested.
      • Help maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT hardware and supplies.
      • Document support procedures and solutions to common problems.
      • Ensure operating systems and antivirus software are kept up to date.
      • Support software installations, updates, and configurations.
      • Assist in maintaining system security by applying updates and patches.
      • Provide occasional end-user guidance or training (in person or via documentation).
      • Participate in scheduled maintenance and routine system health checks.
      • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior IT staff.
      • Support special IT projects and perform other duties as assigned.

      Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

      • 1–2 years of IT support or help desk experience.
      • Basic understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, and networking fundamentals.
      • Familiarity with Windows OS, macOS, iOS, Office 365, and remote support tools.
      • Knowledge of basic MDM platforms is a plus.
      • CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certifications are a plus.
      • Spanish language skills are a plus.
      • Strong communication and excellent customer service skills are essential.
      • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
      • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
      • Use of hand tools for computer troubleshooting
