What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify accurate assignment of diagnoses and procedures within medical records to comply with regulations
- Act as the primary department expert on DRGs, monitoring regulatory updates and implementing changes
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of medical records to ensure coding accuracy
- Review claim denials and rejections, recommending corrective action plans to prevent future issues
- Develop and coordinate educational and training programs on coding and documentation for staff and providers

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
- Minimum of two years of medical or hospital coding experience
- CCS certification required
- Prior experience with an encoder and EMR computer systems
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of denials management
- Experience in developing training programs related to coding and documentation
