What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review security and privacy complaints, data breach notifications, and incident reports for HIPAA compliance
- Evaluate submissions from HIPAA covered entities and business associates regarding security and privacy incidents
- Document processes and develop reports summarizing analyses and recommendations for OCR
- Provide expert analysis on health information privacy policies and technologies
- Collaborate with technical teams to manage information security and risk management programs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field
- Ten (10) years of relevant cybersecurity experience
- Fundamental knowledge of systems analysis and computer security procedures
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical personnel
- Ability to analyze complex computer problems and develop solutions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CIPP/CIPT/CIPT)
- Experience with incident response and security architecture
- Familiarity with national security standards (NIST) and industry best practices
- Background in developing and evaluating health information privacy policies
- Knowledge of current technological developments and trends in cybersecurity
