What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Code inpatient and/or interventional radiology (IRAD) for 90% of current FTE status
- Review and accurately interpret medical record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, or modifier codes for each diagnosis and procedure
- Ensure appropriate MS-DRG assignment based on accurate coding and medical record documentation
- Maintain quality and timely coding, charging, and abstraction of accounts for assigned specialty areas
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certification in RHIT, RHIA, CCS, COC-A, COC, or CIC
- Minimum of three (3) years of hospital inpatient coding or interventional radiology hospital coding experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Graduate of Health Information Technology (HIT) or equivalent program or Medical Coding Certification Program
- Additional three (3) years of hospital inpatient coding or interventional radiology hospital coding experience
