      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Accurately code inpatient conditions and procedures following ICD guidelines and UHDDS
      - Assign appropriate MS-DRG or APR-DRG for complex inpatient services
      - Review medical records to identify and assign ICD CM and PCS codes
      - Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists on documentation concerns
      - Assist in the preparation of responses to DRG validation requests and inquiries

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Minimum education: AHIMA or AAPC approved Medical Coding Diploma or Health Information Management Degree
      - Minimum of three years of progressive inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility
      - Active credential of Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIT, or RHIA required at the time of hire
      - Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and hospital information systems
      - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience with electronic health record systems
      - Academic or level I or II trauma experience
