      Environmental Services Technician (EVS)

      Job Description

      Perform cleaning of equipment, hospital rooms, and ancillary departments while following established procedures. Determine cleaning materials to be used and ensure all chemicals are applied correctly. Wash furniture, tile, and equipment with cleaning solutions. Clean, disinfect, and polish sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and showers. Disinfect walls, vents, and spot clean windows. Dust, mop, and vacuum floors. Shampoo carpets and upholstery. Move furniture and equipment and replace them once cleaning is done. Interact effectively with patients, doctors, nurses, and hospital administration. Clean occupied rooms, discharge areas, and isolation areas. Collect bio-hazardous waste and transport it to holding areas for disposal. Remove soiled linen and non-infectious waste from patient rooms and other areas of the medical center as outlined in departmental procedures.

      Essential Skills

      • Must have at least 6 months of housekeeping, janitorial, or custodian experience.
      • Must be able to speak English.
      • Must be able to work weekends.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Floor care experience is a plus.
      • Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds, primarily cleaning equipment.
      • Positive attitude and good communication skills.

      Work Environment

      You will be working in a hospital environment, exposed to undesirable fluids, non-infectious waste, bio-hazardous agents, and cleaning chemicals. The role involves frequent interruptions and pressures due to multiple callers or inquiries. The night shift (11pm-7:30am) will involve cleaning office spaces, and you will be working every weekend. It is important to maintain a positive attitude as you will be interacting with patients, visitors, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, and others.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
