      CONTRACT ACTUARIES - RE/INSURANCE - LIFE AND P&C - BERMUDA - ONLY 10% TAX - HR120

      About this opportunity

      We're looking for Bermuda-based actuaries who are interested in joining our team for temporary contracting assignments with locally-based companies in the Re/Insurance sector.

      In this environment, you will stretch yourself to enhance your communication skills, cultural awareness, and leadership and influencing skills.

      Such secondments can offer the chance of a fast track to responsibility, flexible contracts, and frequently lead to a permanent placement.

      Usefully, they also enable you to get experience of a range of different companies in different sectors – convenient if you like to ‘try before you buy’ approach.

      A contracting role can also improve your future career chances by enhancing your CV. As well as the huge personal development (improved confidence) and specific actuarial experience gained (with a variety of companies), it demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, plus the opportunity to build your own new network of professional contacts on the Island.

      As a result of the recent economic climate, it is becoming more common for employers to offer secondments to work on projects as they can be a more affordable and practical option, where resources are tight or where the need for a permanent hire is not yet known, such as with a start-up.

      What you’ll need

      • A recognised professional actuarial designation
      • Relevant practical experience to the local job market gained in actuarial consulting or with a Life or P&C re/insurer
      • Well-developed IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
      • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
