      Trouw Nutrition is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team in Manitoba. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations while implementing and maintaining effective HSE systems. As a key member of the site management team, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a sustainable safety culture by driving adherence to company policies and promoting best practices.

      This position requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build operational credibility, ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment.

      About The Role: Ensure safety and drive the success of organizations

      Responsibilities:

      • Build trust, confidence, and collaboration with the HSE team and lead by example to reinforce a strong safety culture.
      • Implement global HSE standards and develop local policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance.
      • Lead and coordinate the site safety committees, HSE Management Reviews, and annual safety objectives .
      • Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and internal audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
      • Manage and improve local HSE systems to comply with company policies, regulations, and certification standards.
      • Provide HSE training programs and guidance to employees and management to ensure informed decision-making.
      • Monitor HSE performance metrics, analyze data, and recommend corrective actions to improve safety outcomes.
      • Investigate incidents, execute root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence .
      • Lead or participate in HSE improvement projects, including CAPEX initiatives and permit applications.
      • Communicate HSE policies effectively across the site and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

      Skills and Expertise

      Qualifications:

      • Be able to Inspire and guide teams towards a strong safety culture.
      • Foster collaboration across departments and teams.
      • Manage multiple HSE processes efficiently.
      • Understand HSE regulations, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
      • Build relationships with internal and external safety professionals.
      • Pragmatic & Solution-Oriented – Focus on practical, effective safety improvements.
      • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is an asset.
      • Must have 5 -7 years of experience in an HSE role and obtain an OHS certificate.
      • CRSP or NeBOSH General/International Certificate or equivalent is an asset.
      • Strong project management skills.
      • Ability to work with computer software, MS experience is must have.

      Expectation from the Role:

      • Must be able to travel to each of our four mills across Manitoba
      • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
      • Strong ability to influence, foster partnerships, and effectively manage stakeholders is essential.
