      This position is located in the Office of Employee and Business Services (OEBS). OEBS manages the agency’s administrative services, including human resources, facility operations and organizational development. OEBS and its component bureaus support the primary goal of ODJFS by providing continuous, accurate and timely administrative services to the program areas within the department. OEBS's customers include all ODJFS employees, clients, service providers, county agencies, and the public.

      What You’ll Do

      • Daily processing of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) eligibility requests and application submissions
      • Maintenance of accurate tracking and monitoring of all FMLA leave occurrences, ensuring employee usage aligns with approved leave terms and complies with federal and agency policies
      • Running Cognos and Kronos reports for FMLA
      • Creating FMLA leave cases and approving additional leave requests for FMLA in Kronos
      • Responsibility for Foster Kinship Care leave program and leave donation program for the agency
      • Occasional processing of leave management for disability, adoption/childbirth, and extended leave of absences
      • Collaborate with Payroll/Wellness staff and other ODJFS offices

      Potential challenges could include possible exposure to difficult persons or stressful situations.

      Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible start time may be permitted).

      The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

      Option 1:

      • 3 yrs. exp. in human resources.

      Or Option 2:

      • Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration and 12 mos. exp. in human resources.

      Or Option 3:

      • 1yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Analyst, 64612.

      Or Option 4:

      • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

      Pay Information

      T his position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 12. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $32.35 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
