      Amazon's Social Responsibility program drives customer trust, business continuity, and sustainable social impact by embedding respect for human rights and the environment throughout Amazon’s entire value chain. We implement company-wide standards and commitments (such as our Global Human Rights Principles and Supply Chain Standards). We seek to continuously improve the tools and processes used in integrating human rights and environmental due diligence across the business.

      We are looking for a Senior Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence Manager to support execution of our global strategies for advancing human rights due diligence across Amazon’s operations and supply chains.

      This leader will be a major player in key program developments and be responsible for advising business teams on human rights and environmental due diligence activities across a variety of Amazon businesses.


      Key job responsibilities
      - Influence and collaborate with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders while driving leading management practices through capacity building and strategic communication.
      - Execute human rights and environmental assessments and advise global business partners, company leadership, and key functions on corresponding risks and opportunities.
      - Work alongside business engagement teams within WWS and with businesses to align on plans to address human rights and environmental risks identified.
      - Facilitate discussions across multiple stakeholder groups to design and test human rights-based risk management mechanisms.
      - Drive innovative solutions to challenging problems with a well-reasoned and solution-oriented vision, grounded in practical roadmaps and persistent prioritization.
      - Quickly learn about and understand different Amazon teams and dive deep into their unique needs, human rights risks, and social impact opportunities.


      About the team
      This role will sit on the Human Right and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) team within the broader Social Responsibility program at Amazon, which in turn sits under Worldwide Sustainability.

      The HREDD team provides tactical and strategic support for business teams across Amazon in embedding respect for human rights into their everyday activities and decision-making.

      We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

      Luxembourg, LUX- Bachelor’s degree in human rights, environment, law, public policy, economics, supply chain management, or related field.
      - 8+ years of experience in business and human rights, environmental and social impact, corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, social justice, and/or related field.
      - Deep expertise in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and other leading human rights frameworks.
      - Deep expertise on Environmental Due diligence and issues as pertains to the German Supply Chains Act and other emerging HREDD regulations.
      - Experience with multi-stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and collaboration.
      - Track record of working independently and with a diverse set of partners to solve complex, large-scale issues.
      - Ability to persuasively propose leading strategies and principled yet practical solutions in writing and via oral presentation, particularly to business audiences.
      - Engenders trust and respect in all working relationships; uses influencing and negotiation skills to drive improvements through shared ownership and accountability.- Advanced degree in law, public policy, environmental engineering, international development, business, sustainability, or related field.
      - Experience working on human rights and/or environmental issues within a company, industry association, and/or consultancy.
      - Experience executing human rights and/or environmental assessments across a range of industries, particularly in the logistics and/or e-commerce industries.
      - Track record of successfully working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business, civil society, investors, and government.
      - Relentlessly high standards combined with strong bias for action.

      Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
