PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Social Media Coordinator at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to strategize and create engaging content for PenFed and the PenFed Foundation's social media platforms. This role will collaborate directly with the Social Media Specialist on a daily basis to ensure content is executed and scheduled. The Social Media Coordinator will also monitor social media channels for industry trends and deliver ideas to team members on how we can implement these new ideas. Utilize social media experience to create engaging and impactful content for various social media platforms, ensuring a consistent brand voice and messaging. Create platform specific content involving reels, stories, and graphics. Assist with administrative tasks on as needed basis. Work closely with Social Media Specialist to develop content calendar and schedule posts. Support team on various projects with coordination of shoots, projects, and meetings. Attend events and produce social media content on them. Interact with partners, employees, and members throughout all social platforms. This does NOT include direct member concerns or questions. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and how they individually work (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube) Works well in a team environment. Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media trends and functions. Working knowledge of social media tools like Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, and Canva. Comfort using cell phone to capture and create content for reels, stories, and posts. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Additionally, office space will be shared with a PenFed sponsored service dog in training. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
