IFC’s FIG Banking & Insurance Team is seeking an intern as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.
Duties and Accountabilities:The responsibilities of the Intern include but are not limited to:Support to Banking & Insurance Specialists & Investment Program
• Work closely with the team to identify and assess business opportunities.
• Conduct industry, market, and company research.
• Perform integrity due diligence on potential clients.
• Perform financial analysis and modelling on project investments, as needed.
• Prepare project-related documents and PowerPoint presentations for internal and external audiences.
Support to Credit and Risk evaluation of Insurance Partners
• Coordinate with the team to obtain necessary information.
Advisory Program Support
• Support mapping identification of insurance companies with an interest or portfolio in Climate or Catastrophic Risk.
• Support identification of insurance companies showcasing Gender specific initiatives (products, distribution channels)
Knowledge Management
• Work with Banking specialists to collate materials relevant for broader dissemination.
• Preparation of knowledge materials and case studies for sharing with FIG staff
Selection Criteria
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
• Preferred field of study: Masters in Business Administration (MBA); Finance;
• 2-3 years of previous work experience
• Fluency in English
