IFC’s Strategy & Operations Management (CSM) department is seeking an intern as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.
Duties and Accountabilities:Provide research, writing, editorial, technical, and design support for the Facility for Investment Climate Advisory Services (FIAS) Multi-Donor Trust Fund. Specifically, selectee will support the FIAS team in preparing the FIAS 2024 Annual Review, the annual report to donor representatives covering the third year of the FY22–26 FIAS Strategy Cycle. Donor programs under the FIAS umbrella trust fund include the Multi-Country Investment Climate Program (MCICP), funded by SECO, the ECA Economic and Climate Advisory Program (E2CAP) funded by Austria, the Women Business and the Law – Africa program funded by Norway, the OHADA investment climate advisory program funded by France, and other programmatic and project-specific approaches supported by FIAS and FIAS Development Partners. The work involves researching FIAS projects via internal project documents and communications with project task team leaders, drafting of multiple writeups (each of about 200 to 500 words) of publishable quality which can be included in the FIAS 2024 Annual Review, PowerPoint materials to be presented to Development Partners at the FIAS Steering Committee Meeting to take place in fall 2024, and similar materials prepared for separate reports relating to MCICP and other FIAS trust funds.
Specific Tasks Include:
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for donor meetings.
• Develop and update material for the FIAS website and ensuring the website is kept up to date.
• Support the initial planning, writing, editing of the FIAS 2023 Annual Review, MCICP Global Results Report 2023, and other FIAS Development Partner reports.
• Identify FIAS-supported IFC Advisory Services projects active in FY24 with activities and achievements that warrant detailed featured reporting on IFC external platforms in addition to donor reports.
• Develop and improved charts and graphs that illustrate the progress of the FIAS Program.
• Support FIAS Program Manager with bilateral communications with donor representatives.
• Assist design/layout of draft FIAS 2023 Annual Review (donor draft) and MCICP Global Results Report 2023.
• Develop and improve procedures for maintaining and updating FIAS web site.
Selection Criteria
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
• Preferred field of study: Communications; Economics;
• 2-3 years of previous work experience
• Excellent writing and high skill levels in Microsoft platforms, especially Excel, are essential.
