- Own and coordinate day-to-day Global IM budget process, including consolidation of Global IM budgets
- Work with management and colleagues to provide effective management accounting services to support the achievement of plans and control costs, identifying root causes of variances and issues for management attention
- Enhance IM unit cost budgeting and reporting
- Liaise effectively with key departmental managers and build strong working relationships
- Prepare ad hoc presentations, management reports and business analyses as required
- Provide commercially valuable financial support and insight to major Global IM projects and contract negotiations
- Ensure value focussed IM project spend by undertaking critical reviews of projects and unnecessary spend that can be eliminated
- Participate in business projects as required
- Undertake post project/contract financial reviews to identify areas for improvement in future projects/contracts
- Develop and own an effective cost recovery model
- Ensure the model is agreed and supported by all business units
- Manage the monthly / quarterly invoicing process
- Provide first level escalation and resolution for contract financial disputes
- Maintain business cases for outsourcing contracts
- Be the primary contact point for reporting monthly performance
- Build, seek agreement to charges issued
- Own the Q4 true up process and budget adjustments
- Work with the IM Leadership Team to build budget submissions
- Fully qualified and experienced accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and/or MBA
- Demonstrated functional accounting experience in a similar environment
- Experience with analysis and benchmarking of financial/business data
- Demonstrated experience working within a team to deliver against set targets
- Proven ability in management accounting and operational performance reporting
- Demonstrable success at providing commercially valuable financial insight to major initiatives
- Good organisational skills - able to prioritise and work effectively to meet deadlines.
- Computer literate, with a working knowledge of SAP and the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal (must be fluent in English)
- Ability to express and debate views with senior levels of management
- Ability to work alone and in a team
- Previous experience in a large corporate environment interacting with all levels and departments within a company, including business unit corporate and field offices around the world.
- Contract management and billing experience, including liaison and negotiation with, and management of, outsourcing suppliers
- A general understanding of IT infrastructure
- Working knowledge of Oracle Hyperion performance management software

Job Description
Global IM is a key enabling function with the potential to significantly add value to the organisation through process improvement, efficiency gains and cost savings. Across the DB Managed Businesses (excluding JVs) the planned 2025 annual budget currently is US$56m operating expense and circ. US$6m capital investment. The function is heavily outsourced for commodity IT services such as Infrastructure and SAP support and this creates billing complexity that needs to be managed across the Group of Companies. This role partners with Global IM to support the function in managing it’s spend, suppliers, internal charging mechanism and approvals and in developing value adding opportunities and associated business cases.
The Finance Manager will own and provide day-to-day management of the Global IM budget process, including consolidating the BU submissions and providing management reports. They will also develop and introduce new cost reporting techniques and budget processes to provide IM management a greater understanding of the IM cost structure and how costs impact on performance. The incumbent will work with the De Beers business units, including joint ventures, to ensure costs are correctly attributed and recovered.
They will also provide commercial insight and financial support and advice to Global IM during contract negotiations or other projects as required, including business case calculations.
De Beers IM works closely with Anglo American IM, Finance and Tax, the IM Finance Manager will be required to understand the Anglo American tax and apportionment / cost recovery models with a view of apply them to the De Beers business units.
De Beers IM recovers a proportion of costs from internal business functions / units. The IM Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring this process operates effectively; this will include the drafting of service levels agreements, seeking approval and reporting performance against them.
They will need to build anOpEx and Capex profile, and develop reports against performance on a monthly basis, and understand and manage the financial reporting calendar for all business units
A major part of the role will also be the financial management and invoice payments of global services providers (e.g. HCL, BT, Accenture) where they operate a Price x Quantity (PxQ) payment model and bill directly. They will need to understand this, and other models, to ensure costs are managed accurately
