Job Description

Support requests for multi-PC configurations within workspaces, dual-monitor configuration requests, or other workspace configuration (changes) requests as required including PC setup and moves.
Support desktop and laptop computers across a wide range of age and complexity of build, doing troubleshooting, repairs, parts replacement, and deployment
Support hand-held devices across a wide range of age and complexity of function, doing troubleshooting, repairs, parts replacement, and deployment
Support other devices, such as cameras, video cameras, card readers, scanners, copiers, multi-function devices, phones, and alternative input devices (ex: non-standard mice and keyboards), doing troubleshooting, repairs, parts replacement, and deployment
Image PCs and laptops with OS and applications for deployment
Act as Dell representative for hardware replacement and warranty repair activities
Assistance with orientation of new users to their IT hardware, including printer selection and usage, docking station and other IT provided peripherals.
OS and Application support, including installation, troubleshooting, and reinstalling and all other related support requests
Anti-virus support, including scanning and securing of USB devices, assist IT security with other virus related issues
Reconfiguration of workspaces and assets as requested or assigned
Assist at the Help Desk at the request of the Help Desk or Support Services Manager
Manage updates (and associated troubleshooting) of applications used internally
Provide basic assistance on proper usage of standard desktop software (Office, Windows, etc.)
Manage multiple OS images for different hardware configurations and different work groups
Install and configure all new approved software
Install and configure all custom software required by local development teams
Install and test all software as needed
Collection and entry of all inventory information via physical inventory of all assets at multiple sites
Physical tagging of assets
Moves, add, and changes, or other support of assets within Active Directory and ServiceNow
Collection, storage, and recycling of old computer, handheld, and printer assets
Manage major project moves of staff and computers, physically unplugging and replugging all computers and parts
Associate's Degree, in lieu of a degree we will consider equivalent years of experience
Four (4) years progressively responsible information systems experience providing user support in several infrastructure areas (voice and data communications, software, internal applications, hardware, and operations) which includes troubleshooting, maintaining, installing and analyzing information systems.
Ability to pass a criminal records check.
- Experience using an IT Service management system to manage work requests, incidents and asset management. Experience in direct customer support in networking environments such as Microsoft directory services, advanced knowledge of desktop operating systems and desktop productivity suites is preferred.

The Department of County Assets (DCA) is hiring for a Desktop Support Analyst. As our new Desktop- Analyst you will provide internal and external support to users located in various Multnomah County buildings. This position provides support for desktop PC's, laptops, mobile devices, multimedia equipment, and other hardware and software used by county staff.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This recruitment may be used to fill full-time, part-time, temporary, limited duration and on-call positions.
Type of Position: T his hourly, local 88 union-represented position is eligible overtime.
Location: Hybrid Scheduled - 3 days on-site at Multnomah Building 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Suite 400, Portland, OR and telework on other days . You will be required to be on-site 5 days a week during the 3 month training period.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with a one hour unpaid lunch. This position qualifies for Routine telework but y hybrid after a training period.
