What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead the configuration, installation, and maintenance of enterprise data backup systems
- Ensure system availability, data integrity, and security using best practices
- Collaborate with hosting administrators, infrastructure teams, and agency customers
- Monitor system performance and capacity to ensure reliable backups and disaster recovery
- Create and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures for backup systems
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
- Minimum of two years of full-time experience in IT roles such as operating computer networks, installing/maintaining database management systems, and providing IT customer service
- Experience must include installing and maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers
- Must reside in the state of Iowa at the time of starting the role
- Completion of an approved curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Six months of continuous experience in the state executive branch as an Information Technology Specialist 3
- Experience in business areas such as accounting, finance, or management
- Certification by an authorized educational institution related to IT specialty areas
